Christopher Robert Jones in an artist, writer, and Research Assistant Professor in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). They are the co-Founder of Crip*––Cripistemology and the Arts (Crip*), a transdisciplinary initiative that is housed within the College of Fine and Applied Arts at UIUC. Crip* demonstrates the value of an applied cripistemological framework through the development of a pedagogical model that utilizes knowledge produced via the Crip/Disabled experience and explores the ways that Crip* is an integral part of art critical discourse and production. Their research revolves around the “failure” or “malfunctioning” of the body and how those experiences are situated at points of intersection between Queer and Crip* discourses. They are a regular contributor to Art Papers magazine and their work has been exhibited at Gallery 400, MIT List Visual Arts Center, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, John Hansard Gallery, BFI Southbank, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Krannert Art Museum, and Weisman Art Museum.
